My Story and Experiences

I had an old InSinkErator Badger under my kitchen sink for almost 10 years, so naturally, when I went shopping for a new model, I decided to go with InSinkErator again. I took my old Badger out and took it with me to the local home improvement store to compare hookups and outlets to try and find a model that would be easy to install. Almost all of the available InSinkErator models lined up fairly well. In the end, I decided to go with the InSinkErator Evolution Select Plus ¾ HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal. I liked the fact that it was made in the United States, and the 6-year warranty was the most comprehensive compared to other models.

Installing this unit was surprisingly easy. My only complaint was that it did not come with an electrical cord. In my case, I was able to use the one from my old model, but it’s something that most people will have to buy separately. That said, all I had to do was twist off the old disposer and put the new one in. Because all of the plumbing outlets lined up with one another, it only took me a few minutes to hook everything up.

When I first turned it on, I thought it was broken. It was so quiet. I thought that it was just the motor humming, and the blades weren’t spinning. It really is just that quiet. It’s nice to be able to carry on a conversation in the kitchen while it’s running without having to shout at each other. We’ve had it installed for about three months now, and with a family of 5 (plus a dog), it’s been put through its paces. So far, so good. Overall, I’m very pleased with its performance.

My Conclusion

The InSinkErator Evolution Select Plus is an excellent product. Although it has a powerful motor, it’s not so big that it takes up too much room under your kitchen sink. The amount of insulation is more than enough to adequately reduce noise and vibration. This is another home run from InSinkErator, and I would happily recommend it to a friend or family member.
